讲座背景:
Throughout history, disruptive technology has resulted in the changing fortunes of both incumbent and new economies. This is evidenced from pre-historical hunting and agricultural tools right to modern times. Few would have envisioned the changes wrought by the abilities of smart phones. It is clear that we can anticipate ever more sophisticated changes to services, products and supply chains. One particular example is that of Driverless Vehicles. It is widely forecasted that they will be available for purchase in the next decade or two. This seminar looks at the expected impact of this technology on our social, physical and economic environment. Drawing from the speaker’s research, the consequences for the insurance sector will be specifically examined with inferences drawn to other expected economic challenges and opportunities ahead.
